Cedar Class had lots of fun going to the Sutton Ecology Centre on Monday 16th April. We took the 157 bus to get there, where we explored the different habitats of minibeasts. We had fun in our groups to look for different minibeasts and could put them in a special pot to observe.
We also had the chance of pond dipping, where we had a net to scoop through the water to see what creatures we could find. Cedar Class were very excited when they found a newt in the pond!
Sutton Ecology Centre is part of the London Borough of Sutton’s Biodiversity Team and is the main resource for environmental education in the borough.
The grounds are an excellent place for a stroll and to find out about wildlife habitats, composting, organic and wildlife gardening. The Centre runs educational visits for schools as well as events for adults, families and children, birthday parties, volunteer days and much more.
