A working party of KS2 children met to discuss the school’s existing Anti-Bullying Policy. The pupils agreed that it was a bit too ‘wordy’ and didn’t really speak to the pupils directly. They decided that it would help children to understand if a child friendly version was produced. These children became our initial group of ‘Anti-bullying Champions’ and their first job was to produce a leaflet for all the pupils in our school. They worked very hard to decide on the content and presentation and were pleased with the results.

Why do we need to have this Policy and why is it important to us?

This policy helps everyone to know what is expected of them at Abbotsbury Primary School. We believe that everyone has the right to feel happy and safe at school and that any form of bullying is not acceptable. This policy gives advice to any pupils who feel that they are being bullied and shows them how they would be supported.
